New Necklace

This is the new necklace for the Gallery, using a vintage 50's era cab for the center and vintage nailheads in the design. I love the vintage pieces. It has been a costly summer so far, a new roof, new very large picture window, heating stove and washing machine repairs, now the deck. I had hoped to repair it a section at a time but found out it was to far gone to save, so the work is underway on that now. I have also been trying to get the pickup in working condition so my daughter can drive it and I can use the car. So far we have been managing with just the car, but it gets a little crazy some time for all of us to get to work. Fortunately my youngest grandson rides his bike to high school, so that's one less worry. Anyway, I will now try to download a picture of the necklace...
I can't figure out why this is on its side, it isn't that way in my photo folder..... Oh well, if I figure it out someday I will fix it.

New Computer

I am having such a hard time with this new computer, I can't find things like I could on the old one, I know in time I  will get better, maybe.......anyway I am going to try to post a picture of the two plates I painted for the Bunnell Gallery fundraiser, called likely enough the "Plate Project". This was the third year that I participated in their fundraiser, however I did not get to see the plates after they had been fired, I hope they came out ok.

They had a Mandela theme in mind for this year.

New necklace

Finished a new necklace for the Gallery, I am pleased with how it turned out. It wasn't quite what was in my head, but as it turns out it was what was in my hands. I believe the beads have a mind of their own. I will try to post a picture when I can figure out how to get it from my phone to the computer.

It truly feels like fall is here, we've had rain for the last two weeks with more predicted. And the fireweed is now going to seed..way to early for me. However when its rainy I do get more things done. I want to get up to my sewing room and get a few things done in there.

I had the opportunity to visit a local treasure the other day. One that I have passed up several times in the past. What a wonderful "Comb Museum" they have in their home. And her collection of hair combs is outstanding. They are all so beautiful it would be hard to choose a favorite. She also had wreaths made out of hair...kind of creepy and yet really beautiful, a craft from yesteryear. She was a hairdresser until they retired to become snowbirds. You can google this however when I figure out how to get the pictures........I've said that before, but I will try to have my grandson show me how. Anyway, she has some of the most beautiful combs I've ever seen. Collected from all over the world, and some gifted to her from her clients when they traveled.

Well, enough for tonight, 5 o'clock comes early.
